  Service members dressing in service wear now don either the Class “A” uniform, or the Class “B” uniform.

  Class “A” uniforms include a dark blue coat with matching trousers, slacks, or a skirt. This uniform is completed by a short or long sleeved white shirt and a four-in-hand necktie for men, while women wear a neck tab

  Class “B” uniforms are similar to class “A”. The same color trousers, skirts, and slacks are worn with a white shirt but differ in that it is worn without the coat.

• Army Mess Uniform – These United States Army Uniforms are for formal occasions and the civilian equivalent would be “black tie”.

  An Army mess uniform consists of, among other things, black leather shoes, a tuxedo shirt, a black bowtie and a formal mess jacket.
