How did you arrive at this position?  What path brought you here?

After 19 years as an Account Executive with Moore Business Forms, Inc. I decided to move to Maryland and start Chesapeake Business Solutions, Inc.  The primary reason for the move was to expand into commercial printing, apparel and promotional products in addition to traditional business forms I had always done.  Doesn’t seem like 25 years ago!

Where can we find you when you are not at work?  What is your favorite way to spend your free time?

Interestingly enough I began my career at Moore on April 1, 1970.

Where did you grow up?  If not here why did you leave there?

I grew up in Syracuse New York…a great place to grow up.  I had to leave because I couldn’t stand the thought of shoveling any more snow.

Any non-profits you love and why?

I love the Toys for Tots Foundation (www.toysfortots.org).   I hate the thought of any child waking up on Christmas Day without a toy.  Also, it is run by the Marine Corps and every penny goes for the kids.

Why should someone not want to work with you?

I can’t imagine!

How do you want to be remembered?

As someone that didn’t take himself too seriously.

What is your favorite quote?

What most excited you about your work and the contribution you make?

Although I was hired in a more or less physical capacity, I was quite enthused when I found a use for my scholastic background in English.  As an advertising and marketing company we endeavour to clearly convey the messages of our clients.  Part of this process is not just proper adherence to grammar, spelling, punctuation, but effective use of these tools.

What are you most passionate about personally?  What do you really enjoy?

My personal passions do in fact revolve around writing and reading.  A story that captures my attention with only words is more entertaining to me than the most action-packed film, television show, or sports game.  Playing with words, redefining how we communicate and in the end how we connect with other people: these are the things I would spend my life contemplating.

Where can we find you when you are not at work?  What is your favorite way to spend your free time?

I thoroughly enjoy playing racquetball as well as hiking and snowboarding.  I thoroughly despise crowds and traffic.  In my free time you may find me avoiding the latter two occurrences and engaging in the former three activities.

Why should someone not want to work with you?

If they are bald they might be jealous of my totally sweet and awesome hair, but other than that I can’t think of a solitary reason why not!

How do you want to be remembered?

I want to be remembered as a 6 foot 6 Viking hanging out over my ship’s mast-head in a storm, sword drawn.
